A further extension of this point. This large function I am talking about is
nothing more than a function that contains a huge array:

x.y = [
 a.b(),
 c.d() # etc
#etc

A whole bunch of elements in this array. At the top of the function, i.e.
when the cursor is near a.b() then emacs is as quick is usual. However, when
I get to the end of the function and we are dealing with the last element
then emacs sticks.

Also, a.b() is not really that simple - of course. It is about 12 lines long
for each element.

So it seems as though this is happening because of a very large array and
perhaps semantic is trying to traverse this huge thing. Again I do not know,
but perhaps this offers some useful information.
