That would be preferable for me (especially if it can be in a chosen
subdirectory): there are projects on networked disks which are routinely
used with different paths on different machines and different projects 
using
the same path on different machines. That would also be preferable with 
VCS
masquerading as file systems like ClearCase (while I've not used that 
one for
years, I seem to have better memory of it than most of its users).

I'm currently experimenting using ede-cpp-root-project, my intention if
I continue to use cedet, is to write something which directly use the 
project
description used by the build system (from a quick read of the manual, 
all
the needed info is available).
