  Elfeed is an extensible web feed reader for Emacs, supporting Atom, RSS

1.1 General
───────────

  • `elfeed-db-save-idle': New customization option to delay database
    saving. This helps to avoid pauses when quitting Elfeed windows.
  • `elfeed-use-libxml': Enable libxml parsing by default if available.
  • `elfeed-default-directory': Set to user home by default.


1.2 Search
──────────

  • `elfeed-search-tag', `elfeed-search-untag',
    `elfeed-search-tag-unread', `elfeed-search-untag-unread',
    `elfeed-search-toggle': Shorter command names and doc string
    improvements.
  • `elfeed-search-confirm-tag': New customization variable to require
    confirmation when tagging multiple entries to avoid accidental
    modifications.
  • `elfeed-search-max-entries' and `elfeed-search-extend:' New
    customization variable and new command to extend truncated search
    list. The search list is truncated by default to speed up rendering.
  • `elfeed-search' header line performance improvements.
  • `elfeed-search-date-filter': Only include a single day.

  • Tree folders can be clicked to open or close them.
  • Tree formatting simplified and improved.
  • Show feed statistics in tree header line.
  • `elfeed-tree-tag-face': New face used for tags in `elfeed-tree'.
  • `elfeed-tree-display-action': New customizable option.
  • `elfeed-tree-style': Style to use for the tree (`nil', `ascii',
    `box', `nerd'). Defaults to `box' or `ascii'. Set to `nerd' if you
    use the Nerd Fonts icons.
  • `elfeed-tree-style-alist': Customizable variable defining style
    presets.
  • `elfeed-tree-and-search': New entry point command to start Elfeed
    with tree and search windows side by side. You can set
    `elfeed-entry-point' to this command.

5.2 Database
────────────

  • `elfeed-db-directory': Change default to `~/.emacs.d/elfeed'. The
    change is backward compatible. If `~/.elfeed' is present, it will be
    used.
  • `elfeed-db-cache-timeout': New option to keep archive content cache
    alive.
  • `elfeed-db-save', `elfeed-db-pack': Reduce risk for database
    corruptions by writing to temporary files first and renaming
    atomically afterwards.
