Thanks, Vladimir. Using the 'lite' version of the search engine solved
the issue, and I don't notice any drawbacks to it.

@Katsumi-san, are you ok with a patch to file w3m-search.el line ~217 to
change the default duckduckgo setting to use the lite version, as
Vladimir does?
