Thank you very much! Your comments helped a lot. I meanwhile have 
something like spreadsheet functionality in my planner pages: I have 
some sums of the project and its sub-project durations printed on some 
page and automatically updated when I edit tasks (e.g. have something 
completed).

That does what I need. I still need to get my head around dynamic 
scope..

BTW: when I put a call to my function in a <lisp>...</lisp> tag, Emacs 
crashed occasionally :-/

(If first asks something like 'buffer XY changed, save first?' for a 
buffer I just saved; when I said 'yes' Emacs vanished).

I didn't quite understand the purpose of this macro. In my case, it has 
the effect, that planner-find-file does not result in the found file 
being opened in the buffer?

Thanks again. For simplicity, I create the list of pages by hand right 
now. Later, I may consider defining some planner sub-project..
