muse as frontend to mediawiki?

I'm trying to use http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/mediawiki.el together
with Muse as a frontend to a mediawiki.

This is going only so-so because mediawiki.el doesnt seem to support
authentification. 

Does anyone else have any sucess with this or other methods?
