I do this all the time both with XEmacs/gnuclient on the same display and gnuclient in a "local" 'term, and with them on different displays with gnuclient in a ssh session. > So in practise I should kill my Xemacs X11 session start a tty session > and then run gnusclient -nw. No, that should not be necessary. I would really like to find out what the problem is on your system and get XEmacs to work properly for you. XEmacs has been able to display frames simultaneously on different consoles, including different window systems, since it was call "Lucid Emacs." I would be very distressed if we can't do that. Would you please file a full bug report for this problem? Steve
