Vector graphics

I have a slightly crazy feature request for some future edition. Put it
in your pipe, smoke it, and let it roll around. I won't be insulted if
you think I'm crazy.

What I'd like to be able to do in XEmacs is simple line drawing: Vector
graphics on a fairly limited scale. At minimum, I'd like to be able to
draw boxes around words, lines, and paragraphs. On the high end, I'd
like to be able to draw free vertical and horizontal lines, anchored to
characters, with callbacks when those lines are broken by character
movement.

I know that sounds crazy but my eventual goals would be to support some
rudimentary XML drawings and some much improved Python editing. Imagine
basic blocks being highlighted by outlines instead of hopping cursors.

Well, it's just a crazy dream.
