We've already accepted what you say a couple of posts ago.  I don't
see why you're getting so upset: Nobody committed anything over your
objections.

But the redisplay part of Xft *is* quite small.  I also don't see
anyone rewriting significant parts of redisplay anytime soon, unless
you're up for it.
