That's what I use for xemacs lists occationally (like today).

I also read
nntp+news.gmane.org:gmane.emacs.devel
in gnus.

Oh, you would be the one to ask :-)

If you have a cvs client, which you obviously do, and got pcl-cvs play
nice with subprocesses, you should have all you need.

Subprocesses will be the tricky part I guess?
