That's right.  There was a back-door into the archives for spammers
which I closed then.  But it was only the archives; since there was no
traffic (except for a small amount of spam), people mostly didn't
check the archives.  I certainly didn't, until Steve Y rephrased his
report in such a way that I realized he wasn't complaining about S/N,
he was reporting many megabytes of crap getting through.

Cleaning up the archives is on my list, but it's one of them Augean
tasks....
