My .Xmodmap file contains remove Control = Control_L keycode 115 = Control_L add Control = Control_L remove Control = Control_R keycode 116 = Control_R add Control = Control_R Pete> Worked fine in XFree86 4.2.1, where the keycodes were mapped Pete> to nothing. In my new XFree86 4.3.0, they are mapped to the Pete> keysyms "Super_R" and "Super_L", and XEmacs displays the Pete> warning paragraphs. The keys still work as I intend inside Pete> and outside of XEmacs - they work like "Ctrl" keys. Probably you won't have any problems, as long as there are no keys left on your keyboard bound to the Super* keysym. Then there's no way for XEmacs to find out what the meaning of the mod4 bit is. Try adding remove Mod4 = Super_L remove Mod4 = Super_R to your .xmodmap. In general, xmodmap problems are best addressed via XKeyCaps, http://www.jwz.org/xkeycaps/ if memory serves, although most distros that use XFree86 now provide it as a package. -- Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Ask not how you can "do" free software business; ask what your business can "do for" free software.
