display variables in gdb mode

Hello,

in my attempt to never leave xemacs again ;) I tried to use the gdb mode 
to debug my c++ programs. It seems to be quite ok, but I may be biased 
from the use of ddd:

What I am missing is a display that allways shows the contents of some 
selected variables. (How) can that be done in gdb mode ?
