Help with NUMPAD mapping and question on auto-save

Hello,

I have two questions.  First, I would like to map my numpad keys so that 
they work as the regular keyboard keys (i.e. Enter=Return, * will give 
me a * and not a macro, - will give me - and not a macro, etc.)  How do 
I go about doing this?

Also, is there any way to have the autosave occur after a certain number 
of minutes instead of keystrokes?  The ftp that I log in to times out 
after a few minutes of inactivity, so if I'm doing research or something 
and then try to save my file, XEmacs locks up because the ftp has closed 
the connection.
