make "*.pro" a textfile buffer instead of IDLWAVE

Hello, whenever I load a qt project file (*.pro) I get an IDLWAVE buffer. Since I can't add local variables to every .pro file that I open ( they are not mine), I would like to tell xemacs to handle *.pro files as simple text buffers. My search how to do this was unsuccessfull, so I hope for your help (again)...
