[PATCH pkgs] Texinfo 5.x fixes, etc.

I got a successful build with texinfo 5.2 from MacPorts.

However, many of them produce a slew of errors (texi2html 5.0 from
MacPorts), and x-symbol actually fatals due to an ambiguous argument.
What version of texi2html are you using?

I'll see if I can clean a few of these up but it will take a couple
days before I can get to that.
