Hello Fabrice, I have
load-home-init-file
set t in my user-init-file.

Could it be that you have an equivalent setup?

load-user-init-file-p
may also be of interest.

Have you ever been asked about user init file migration?

Do you have both, .emacs and .xemacs/init.el?
