Program stop responding to user inputs

Whenever I try to use Options->Advanced->Emacs->Faces, the status line

shows "Your eMail address : ...", but at this moment the menu is

still there so I cannot switch my keyboard focus to the status line

and thus the whole program stop responding to any input.
