Hi Luke!

Please don't send messages in proprietary file formats to XEmacs
mailing lists.

Simple text messages will get you farther.

Try
M-ESC (keyboard-escape-quit)
and if that does not help
C-g (keyboard-quit)
to get out of that menu.

I think you are queried for your mail address.

You could set your desired email address using
M-x user-mail-address
