Good.  If you can dredge up any memories that might explain why you
(might have) had a corrupt tree, let me know.  Maybe we can prevent it.

Apparently this has been confirmed.  I've built with X Windows
support; my next guess is that somebody got overzealous in
conditionalizing code on X support.  I'll have to rebuild, I'll let
you know.

You could download Cygwin X support and build with that.  Once the
problem is fixed for native-GUI-only builds, you can either (1) decide
you like it (requires no rebuild!), (2) remove the X support, or (3)
give the --with-x11=no flag to configure.
