You identify persistable entities and define their relationships using annotations. The following code sample begins the definition of a baseball Player class. Getting an EntityManager instance is easy but circuitous in desktop environments. Notice that the Entity annotation comes immediately before the class definition. Excelsior, LLC Fujitsu Gemstone Systems, Inc. Finally, in Java SE desktop environments you should put database connection properties in the persistence. The owning Player side of the relationship is responsible for storing the foreign key. Fields and Properties An entity's state is defined by the value of its fields or properties. Since EntityManager instances represent a persistence unit, you must provide the persistence unit name. Also, the owning side usually contains the foreign key to the other entity. Any that aren't, ended while the session was closed. This article describes the Java Persistence API and how to use it in Java SE desktop applications that require object persistence. I've decided not to debug it any further. A persistence unit defines a group of entities mapped to a single database. Use the class element to list the entity class names in your application. Fields or properties marked with the Transient annotation will not be persisted to the database. But now that's possible! By default, the table name corresponds to the unqualified class name. A Producer can also supply the environment for deploying and managing portlets. This is especially useful and convenient when you use field-based persistence annotations instead of property-based annotations. Entity classes typically interact with other classes, either using or providing services. The procedures apply to the trunk WSRP builds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
