Hello to all
my ASL Comrades. I am very glad to announce that
Dispatches
from the Bunker #36 will be shipping out by Thursday
this week
after getting it published for this past weekend's Nor'Easter
tournament.
(What a glorious event it was, great time!).

This latest
issue is going to be the last paper issue that I will be mailing
out as we
transition to pdf. file format going forward. I have run out of almost
all the
paper back-issues, all that is left are #34, #35 & new Issue #36.
Anyone
looking to grab them before they are gone, see ordering Info down
towards the
bottom of this update.
Speaking of
pdf. issues, through a ton of help from Ralph McDonald, we now
have all
Dispatches Back Issues available at a nominal charge. Again, see
ordering
Info below. Please e-mail me before ordering the pdf. issues on what
I can do for
you price wise.

We have the
usual 4 scenarios for #36 and here they are:

Assyrian
Ambush: The 2nd in the Battle for Iraq series by Ted Wilcox sees elements
of the Iraqi
Independent Mechanized Brigade running the gauntlet through Bd 57
as British
trained and equipped Iraqi levies try to stop them from exiting. All armor
vs all
infantry in 1941 for a quick playing tourney action.

The Police
Station: Joe Gochinski has another in the Hong Kong battles with action
starting
immediately with on board melees at start as the Japanese 38th Division
tries
to capture
the Police Station, with it's overwatch position from the Winnipeg
Grenadiers.
Reinforced
company side elements on both sides and a strong Canadian defensive position
with
fortifications makes for a taught battle until the end. 6.5 turns makes it just
small
enough to
fit into a tourney time slot or 5 to 6 hour time frame. Exciting action for
sure.

Hunting Gray
Wolves: The latest in the NKVD series from our own Tom Morin sees a sweep
by a company
of NKVD 6-2-8s supported by mixed armor and air support trying to dig out
Graywolve
Partisans in the Ukraine. Board 34 is where the action is and comes down to
much close
range fighting and CC. Lots of FUN for both sides as CVPs and Hut Control
are the
VCs.

Defending
the Twin Villages: The Battle of the Bulge setting of the approaches to
Rocherath-Krinkelt on boards 5 & 32 sees Kampfgruppe Muller
of the 12th SS Hitler
Jugend
crashing into the valiant GIs of the 2nd Infantry Division. 18 (6-5-8) SS
squads
supported by
5 x JgdPz IV/70 Tank Destroyers attack a company of mixed American
squads with
a bunch of SWs, a 81* Mtr a 2 x M4A3/76W Sherman 76L tanks. A fairly
large action
taking 8.5 turns with the SS trying to break through. Much maneuver and
lots of
firepower here.

Kedge
has another nice article, looking at the state of ASL in 2013. Carl
Nogueira
has more
Tactical Tips and I'll have all the usual
scoop on the regional ASL scene.

For those unfamiliar with Dispatches, it is a 12 page Amateur
ASL
Newsletter that comes to the greater ASL Community twice
a year, sometime in
March and September courtesy of the New
England ASL Community, including the
Bunker Crew and our yasl
Brothers in Southern New England. It typically contains 4 New Scenarios,
Analysis of each one, a Main Article on any aspect of the game system,
Tactical Tips, ASL News and Tournament Updates from our region.

Remember, Dispatch #28 included Tom
Morin's 3 scenarios and
5 date mini-campaign of the brutal battle that took
place on
Guadalcanal at the Ilu River (Alligator Creek).

Also Please
remember that Dispatch #23 is devoted to
VotG including the 3 scenarios that
Tom Morin designed
specifically for the newsletter, analysis of each,
Tom's
VotG Saga and Jim Torkelson's look at VotG from the
German point of
view.
Speaking
of old Dispatches, MMP published 'Out of the Bunker' featuring
scenarios
that originally were published in Issues #01 - #20. See the link
