Hello to all my ASL Comrades. Just wanted to give my latest update on our Newsletter Dispatches from the Bunker. We are wrapping up playtesting for Dispatch #42 and are very pleased with the four scenarios we will be publishing next month. I hope to transmit the pdf newsletter either 3/20 or 3/27. Here are the scenarios that we are working on: Grand Hotel Britannia: Great looking tournament action by designer extraordinaire Steve Johns see a battle already between British elites vs German Marines in Victory building J3 on Board 45 at start, with a larger relief force trying to push aside the German defense outside of the building. Random Rubble and a Smoke FFE add to the fog of war at start. Unnoticed Victory: The latest from Mike 'Pooch' Pucio has the action on Board 30 as the invasion of Wake Island has spilled onto adjacent Wilkes Island. The Japanese SNLF has already captured the US gun positions when the Marine counterattack strikes. Tourney style with a few overlays. Silencing Sinzig: A late war American Blitz to seize the Bridge over the river on Board 40. Board 43 is also in play. The American recon unit is supported by 2 Sherman Tanks who have to deal with the German heavy SWs in over-watch on the hill . Once they have been dealt with the battle for the bridge is on with low morale troops on both sides trying to win the day. Nice design by Jeff Myers. Tigers and Flames. The big, Eastern Front brute of a scenario in this issue by our own Joe Gochinski sees an all out assault on the building enclave on Board 1A. The German has 2 small delaying forces on Boards 56 & 57 who try to waste time and troops from the Russian juggernaut. With 11 AFVs including a SU122, SU152 and 3 OT-34s, combined with 24 mostly elite squads and a 82* Mtr this force means business! The German OB is a mixed bag at start but gets elite squads and 3 Tiger I panzers on turn 3 to try to stem the tide. Great design by Joe with a little help from Tom Morin. We'll also have a new article by Bob 'Kedge' Johnson about Festung Budapest along with a new Tips Article from Carl Nogueira and Aaron Cleavin on Air Power in ASL. Current Subscription Info: Re-subscriptions for any current subscriber are $14.00 for a 4 Issue subscription.
