VECTOR: G05-801, GO5-802 HVU swappable

I am missing the unit from an Asteroids that had a 801.  Can another  used be 
used in its place?  I know that it won't mount correctly, but I  just want to 
check out the rest of the monitor.  Also, it is 801 longer,  skinnier unit?
