I am confused.  Isn't there a DAC on the chassis of the monitor which  is 
needed to drive the deflection circuits? Apparently the digital signal coming  
off the game PCB is sufficient to drive the scope?
Forgive my ignorance but hell we all gotta learn somehow :)
