Except the available implementations are, by and large, terrible for 
embedding -- even worse than Python. Given that JS is found mostly in 
web browser, the actual implementations I've seen are all terribly 
browser-centric, and not even factored or documented for separate embedding.

Although V8 looks good -- I hadn't looked at that previously.
