Didn't we discuss this like three years ago, in the context of "what are 
textures, really?"
Once you get into those details, you start having to make assumptions 
about what a sample is.
Is it a point sample of a band-limited function?
Is it an area average for a picture sensor?
If so, what is the shape of that area filter?
