Its been said, in many, many, MANY replies within the "old burnt out 
thread":

SQL databases provide some solutions for some problems. It is not the 
only solution. It is not always the best solution. If you do not see the 
value of it, especially after "years of experience with php/mysql..", 
then I fail to see why the members of this list need to validate its 
usage as a technology within muds and prove its value. Especially when 
it's quite clear that anything we say will just be hearsay, unless we 
slap out our entire codebase for a production mud that meets your 
shifting standards of proof.

So far, it seems the only thing you have to offer on the subject is "The 
problem I see is that everyone talks about how easy it is.. But the fact 
is, it's not easy."

We get that. You don't have to start a new thread every few days to tell 
us so.
