The Joy of programming.

Ruby on Rails proves that when developers are having fun writing
applications a whole new class of ideas and innovation can take place. 

When I think about high-level languages, I think of the joy that they
bring to the table.    You can find programming joy at every level of
the stack: some folks will find joy in pushing the most megabytes per
second to the video card, others in materializing dreams and pull stunts
that were not possible before.

But software product are not made just of happy programmers and joyful
experiences.   It is a balance between the requirements and your ability
to write code faster and have a more productive team.
