Repost (sorry), because strange things happened regarding formating. ----- [email protected] a écrit : > ----- "Shaun Stamper" <[email protected]> a écrit : > >> Eventually the entire game will be what nowadays is called > "script." > > Yes, the entire game. > > The whats running the script, on the other hand... > > > > -- > > Shaun Stamper > > Graphics Programmer / Engine Team > I understand that NIH syndrome is still strong. Hell, I'm all in favor of it! But I also think that sometimes, you are allowed to use middleware in order to lower your budget. The development of a game doesn't start from scratch each time anymore. This used to be the case a few years ago, but this is now the exception rather than the rule. It doesn't mean that you won't need to deal with very low level issue, but if you are lucky enough to have a technology team that handle that, you can end up with developping game using only scripts (which might be kind of difficult to see if you're an engine programmer). It's the whole point of the public release of the Unreal Engine. -- Emmanuel Deloget _______________________________________________ Sweng-Gamedev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.midnightryder.com/listinfo.cgi/sweng-gamedev-midnightryder.com
