Hi all, I wanted to highlight an article that contains some useful information around the forthcoming Windows XP SP2 for developers like us. Speaking with a number of you directly highlighted that many developers assume this next release will be of zero impact to their existing work - I'm not saying it will, I'm just saying you may be. We're proud of the fact that SP2's number 1 priority is security; even though this can have some impact. For instance the no-execute (NX) memory protection mode can affect some script-driven titles and device drivers (for those IHVs on the list ;)). Another area discussed in it is the increased network protection technologies that we talked about at GDC. Anyway, I recommend you go make a good, strong, cup of coffee (or whatever is your vice) and read the information at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/security/productinfo/xpsp2/introduction.aspx Oh, also please ensure your QA folk, if not yourself, are running some copies of the SP2 beta on x64-based machines. If they haven't got it, go download it from http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/sp2preview.mspx. Hope this helps, Mike
