Mark, like anything else that has ever become viable, the ONLY way for manned missions to ever
become viable is by trial and "error".

Which is why I think continuing manned missions into space by trained astronauts and cosmonauts
who are well aware of the risks they take is very very necessary.

I do agree that we are not yet ready to send civilians into space, though.  Not unless they sign a
whole pile of waivers, anyhow.
