Mumbai is pretty close (a three-hour drive) from Pune where I live, but as it turned out I was in Goa during the chaos. Goa normally gets more rain than Mumbai (it did not on Wednesday, though) but has no water drainage problem like Mumbai does.

I had to stay on in Goa (no complaints!) a couple of days longer than originally planned, as all the roads back to Pune were either submerged at some spot, or had part of a hill parked on them.

Finally drove back home yesterday, but it took 4-5 hours longer than usual as there were bad traffic jams at one or two spots where the road was a few inches under flood water.

It was all very green and wet along the way, which made for good viewing ;-)
