Yes, it was common knowledge ... right up there with the fact that if a 
Cat4 or Cat5 hit, the levees would fail no matter what.  If the winds 
and storm surge didn't get the city, the water flowing down the 
Mississippi would.

It's like the "big one" hitting San Francisco.  We all know it's going 
to happen someday, there's nothing anyone can do about it, and we also 
know that when it hits, it will be because of the War in Iraq, and 
therefore such a catastrophic earthquake would be all George Bush's fault.

I ran out of diapers for the baby the other day, and plan a nasty letter 
to the President blaming it on the War in Iraq and yes, on the President 
himself.  No doubt Clark and Peter would approve (grin)
