Because in the long and interesting history of the United States, the invasion of Iraq is one of the stupidest things we have ever done.  It has help to bankrupt the treasury of this country, inflicted immense damage to our image, and done absolutely nothing to make us more secure.  Plus we'll never get out of there as long as "ol' Stay the Course" is in office.  When an event is so significant to a country's soul as this war is right now, it becomes almost impossible to separate it from anything else that affects us.  

Sorry for the rant.  I guess I need a drink of Kool-Aid to settle me down.
