I remember some of the holier-than-thou comments from certain sectors of old Europe after the L.A. riots ... they only lasted a couple of days and were quickly qwelled. 13 days seems a bit much, so the question is - exactly when is the French government going to get off it's ass and put an end to these riots? I mean, enough is enough already. -- Bill Highfield St Cloud, Florida, USA! Oh, holier-than-thou is something anyone can do, and does, when it's the other guy got the Crocodile at the seat of the pants :) The "riot" definition was quickly over, ie a crowd of geezers aimlessly roaming and doing random damage. The rest of the time it's been gangs of 12 to 16 year old hitting targets and disappearing, organised by texto and spurred on by Intifada blogs. Hard to lift, hard to predict. The ones they're catching, since they're minors, are seeing the family allowance cut off from the parents, which is a good thing :) Curfew is now in operation, under a law dating from the Algerian rebellion of 1955, which is symbolic enough ; sins of the fathers, etc etc. The Muezzin ------------------------ Yahoo!
