Even the Imam behind the centre does not seem opposed to the idea - but seems to be constrained for some reason. It may just be that the people funding it do not want the location moved. Can well imagine certain egoistic Saudi or Kuwaiti royals or billionaires insisting that it remain at the present site. Even the majority of Muslims in the US (in some study or interview) were not opposed to relocating the centre elsewhere - and why should they care? It wasn't their idea anyway!
