Yep, I remember the problem being getting a reply in quickly enough to join a game! I got a lot of 'sorry, we're full' replies when I first joined and it stayed that way for a long time.
 
It is though a long while now since I replied to a game invitation on The Cat but I do still regard myself as a Cat-23 player and would love to see it spring back to life. I don't have any expertise to offer but I'll do my best to support any activities inorder to help put some momentum back into the old feline.

Glad to see you found the place, Alan. There can be life in the old Cat yet. There are too many different preferences for styles of play, methods of adjudication, email vs. web interface, rating systems (or not), etc., for there to ever be a single group that everyone will belong to.By the way, I don't have to imagine what you are hoping for.
