I would have to check the list for the exact date of the relevant 
discussion but I recall perfectly that I was the one noticing and 
commenting on the list. I also think that you said then that some months 
(two?, four?, six?) had passed since you had deleted the Cat23 homepage. 
I had noticed before actually but I became sufficiently annoyed only at 
the second or third try and after checking it was not my error.

I can't say for sure if the decline's only factor is the absence of a 
proper portal page or there are other factors. Maybe this kind of games 
don't anymore have the same appeal to young people with the ability to 
play all sort of computer games, maybe the list system is unappealing, 
maybe... But I'm pretty sure I could not introduce properly some people 
(who I had introduced to the hobby privately) into Cat23 because the 
portal page was not there. The most enthusiastic one I'm certain that 
ended in Redscape - maybe it was the familiarity of the forum format?, 
unsure.

Anyhow, it would be interesting to find out if the decline is only 
affecting Cat23 or is something generalized across the hobby's clubs.
