I'm in .... prefs to follow later.

Don't bother writing an RP file. I already did it before, got entirely done with everything, and got an error at the end of all the work. Apparently, RP can only handle a map with up to 256 (the perfect square of 16, by the way, for all you programming nerds) spaces. If anyone knows a work around or a patch, let me know. I contemplated writing two maps for it, Trout, but gave up due to clumsiness and shear ugliness.

You are officially the man for running this variant!!!!!!!!

          Okay. I'm a sadomasochist. I'm in.

Guess I'm going to need 12 more players for a game of Imperial Diplomacy. Come join me in this sheer terror of a variant!

Map is here: http://www.diplom.org/Online/maps/imperial-small.gif

Variant Description is at: http://www.diplom.org/Online/variants/imperial.html

I'm even going to see what I can do about writing some RP files for adjudication.. If anyone knows whether someone's already done this, please let me know. =)

So yeah, pick up the challenge with me and join in. If you're so inclined, please email me your country preferences at [email protected] and not the list.

Cheers,

Trout

Trout's statement as to my commitment is correct. Expect my post in the next couple of days about "Riverboat Diplomacy." It is essentially a map based variant with a few twists. My expectation is that those of you who love strategy will fall in love with this variant. "Gunboat Diplomacy" would be a more fitting title for it... But, alas, it's taken already

As for the rest of Trout's email, I nominate him (or anybody else) to GM a game of IMPERIAL diplomacy. It's a map-based world variant with 13 players. Further, I challenge all of you to play. I'd do the GMing, bt I make myself GM only one game at a time. If Trout (Or, agani, anybody else) will accept the challenge, I will be his first volunteer. I've played this variant three times by PBEM, and it's a real blast with a committed group of players.

PS: I guess you better consider me "new blood," although as long as I've been playing this hobby, I'm in truth about as well-seasoned as beef jerky.

Alright. So far, here's a quick snapshot of the response that my off-the-cuff posting seemed to generate
yesterday:

GM's interested in starting a game:
Andy (The White Wolf) - Willing to start an old warhorses game
Mike Cuffaro - Willing to start a new-blood game
Former Trout - Willing to start some sort of game - variant or otherwise
Eric Grinnell - Looking for players to play in a playtest of a seriously cool naval / rivers variant
Phil Ward - Can start a game in mid-July

Old Guard members looking to join a game:
Ted Morley
Raymond Erb
Packrat (Scott)
Andy (The White Wolf)

Very Well-Seasoned Cat-23 Veterans looking to join a game:
Max Victory
Rich Marie

The Young Blood:
Former Trout (i.e. me)
Sir Rob, the Chicken of Bristol =)

Observing but so far non-committal:
David Cohen
Ray Setzer

Let me know if I missed anyone. I'm liking this response so far though.
