Harumph, For whom does the bell toll? It tolls for thee, who hath woken me from my slumbers. It's interesting to see how lore is lost, after such short times. Ray spat out a chewbacca few lines out on the stoop ; Cat23 is Ray's and so was worldmasters ; however, worldmasters is gone (account closed), and was taken over by Chris Babcock over on DipWorld. More generally, maybe let's say two years ago, there was a sudden general slump on both Cat23 and DipWorld, probably for some common reasons, and also particular ones proper to each site. One of the general reasons was the creeping predominance of what was called "Smeagol" play, where mean-minded goons would huddle over a miserable two dots and emit not one jot or tittle of entertainment or derring-do. Another general reason was the spilling over of various politico-social issues between various "faces", both from FtF and from PBEM. Internationally, too. The refuge from this, for some few stoop suppers, was the "Riskwanker" concept, whose last fling on the wider stage was the "smeagolsmiter" team of the last Dipworld tourney. Since then, rudeness and smugness has meant that participation in Dip has become problematic at best, since this implies transgression of "lazy wanker" status, and turning-in of the Badge. If this latest upsurge of whipper-snappers and fellow-me-lads means a return to days of yore, then good luck say I ; but beware the smeagols, for their name is legion... Chairman Kow
