Why would anyone give up a chance to play Turkey in this game? It has to
be one of the most favorable positions in this variant. 

I guess playing the first turn again is the correct thing to do with a
new Sultan.

		Thanks for all your input. I have had no word from Peter
[Turkey], so I am going to replace him.
		 
		First refusal goes to Russ Bynum, our observer [he was
the first observer to sign up]; if he declines, I will offer the
position to Chris Morse.
		 
		It is my intention to play the first turn again, I'm
afraid. Players can leave their existing orders in place or can of
course update them as required. However, all this will have to wait
until we have confirmed our replacement player.
		 
		Two of the confirmed players are on vacation too, so I
will need to take this into account.
		 
		I'm sorry that this game has got off to a bad start,
guys. Hopefully it will still run ok once we have started with a
reliable set of players!!
