Hey guys

From the GM's point of view, this was a fascinating game all the way through. Watching the ebb and flow of play and the shifting of the allegiances has been the most fascinating part, as emphasised by seeing the variations given by the alternative starting positions. IIRC [I don't have the earlier maps at this PC], all nations started with alternative starting positions, thus adding spice and an element of unpredictability to the first few turns at least.

I especially appreciated being 'cut in' on much of the players' Diplomacy press. Sometimes it's difficult, because I can see what is going to happen - but I have to remain neutral, of course :)

I really must GM another variant game later this year, as well as, perhaps, another Standard. I am currently running a Winter 1898 Crowded variant [11 players on what is nearly a standard board - Ruhr is a SC in this one], so I may well run a 'normal' 'Crowded' variant [that is, starting in 1901 with all the pieces in place] beginning just after Christmas, probably. Anyone interested, please let me know and I'll contact you nearer the time [no obligation of course!]

Thanks to all the stalwart players for making this a real game to remember, including those who dropped in to cover mercy positions. For those who dropped out, thanks to those who gave me notice - it's always appreciated and helps to make the game run more smoothly. For those who simply disappeared, perhaps they need to learn better manners ;))

Thanks again everybody, and well played!

Cheers
Tony [GM]
