An apology

Hi all,
I'm terribly sorry about what has happened to this game, and I shall
accept an abandonment (as I did abandon it).  But here are my thoughts,
from the GM side of things.
The thing that was so hard about this was the fact that I had to redraw
the map each turn, especially later in the game when all of you were
doing such tricky moves.  My method of updating the maps was a bit
complicated: I kept a Powerpoint file, which had the updated map for
each turn on each slide.  Then, on top of that, I superimposed pictures
of the armies and fleets.  I probably have the file around if anyone's
interested in it.  There's probably a better way to do this, and it was
sometimes difficult for me to find the hour or two necessary to do an
adjudication.

When I first discovered this variant, I thought it would be a really fun
to play, because you could sneak into other players' territories by a
seismic order.  I think that the example I used when promoting this game
was ION sep ADR, Apu con Alb, allowing Italy to sneak attack Austria
from two angles.  But I agree with Ian, that it was beginning to look
impossible in the end game, because the traditional stalemate lines were
destroyed, and there were always countless seismic orders which could
mess up anyone's position.  I feel like that unless a majority of people
actively helped one of the others win, then the game would never end in
a win.
Once again, I'm sorry about what happened with this game, and I can
fully understand if none of you want to play with me again.  I think
I've given up for now on the GMing, because I don't really have the time
necessary to keep on top of everything.  Sorry.
