My series of vassal games has produced a first winner: Jake Lloyd who played Russia in game vaslug. Against expectations 'slug was a very fast game, wrapped up in 1906 by a quickly expanding, apparently unstoppable Russia. Is vassals good for Russia? It certainly ain't bad.

One game leads to another. Let me present to you: vasoft. It combines the opening scenario of the first game that started (BLANK_BOARD) with the determining speed factor of the first game ending (NO_PRESS) and gets rid of torn allegiances by not including the new rule with that name. Torn allegiance was and is present in all previously started games, automatically destroying all vassal units who find themselves on SCs no longer controlled by their controller after their home center changed hands. Without torn allegiance the vassal units stay alive longer, increasing their utility to their new master.

Sounds too technical? Don't worry. Play and you'll see.

Oh yes, vanillas is still recruiting. The genuine, the pure, the correct way of playing vassals according to the inventor. Dare to disappoint him (or me) any longer!...

Mario.
