UKDP reborn

Yes, it's true: We've put new life into UKDP, the first DPjudge clone to see the light back in 2001. After a mere 3 years technology outpaced it and it was sent to the abyss of broken links. Now Peter Spikings has ramped up the specs, changed the platform and promises unsurpassed speed and uptime.

The mission? To serve as a beta-platform for developments on the DPjudge. We're moving towards a more sound approach to software development, and that means extensive testing with alpha-releases (on DPforge, aka DPFG), beta (UKDP) and production (USDP). 

A number of features have been developed on DPFG so far that out of caution have not gone into production yet. They can be tasted first on UKDP. Among them are a new map, Zeus, and new blind rules, such as TROJAN where units only see neighboring units of opposite type, and GREEK where the units need to be of the same type. A more extensive list of features will be given later or can be found on the DPjudge googlecode wiki.


I have created the following games:
+ Poseidon: on the Zeus map, with Press
+ Neptune: Zeus map, No Press
+ Troy: AncMed, Trojan, Touch Press
+ Athens: AncMed, Greek, Public Press

Given our busy schedule it may still be a while before they get released on USDP, so don't wait, join today on UKDP. And if you want to create your own game, be my guest. Both are using the same DPPD, so no need to reregister.
