Imperial Position up for grabs

Game 'manofwar' is an Imperial Diplomacy game, with a very large France up 
for grabs (40/54 in F1871R, to be precise).
It's still a power with great result potential, although your immediate 
predecessor seemed to have been doing his level best to commit suicide.

The game is currently on a Christmas/New Year hiatus until January 10, but 
it would be great if someone could take the position over and make the 
retreats necessary.
