A few comments on this topic First of, repeated calls for players only indicate that the game appeals to rarefied populations. Just because a blind/xtalball game took 3 months to fill, during which time I created, ran, and had end 8-10 games only indicates that while there are players who want such a game, there are few enough that most will be caught up in other games, and it will take time for them to be freed of such, and thus to sign up. Ought games like this not be run? Why, because they take up space on the list of games? One item to consider is that 50% of the rules options have nothing to do with gameplay; MUST_ORDER NO_MINOR_WAIT LIST_UNORDERED/WAITERS etc etc are all administrative in nature. 1900 has largely replaced Standard as a map (for good reason). Other than press options there are few rules left. Payola and its modifiers Xtalball Blind and its modifiers Movement modifiers (mainly convoys, now WEAK_BOUNCE etc) Setup modifiers I realize I speak as someone who masters only "complicated games". That I've setup and have run/are running 16 games since October, three waiting now to be filled, (a good portion needing more than 7 players) indicates that there is indeed demand for such games. To each their own. No "novelty junkies" condemn players who prefer the game as it was 40 years ago. Why do those more conservative players condemn players and masters in the mood for something new? -RS --- Abbey Lawrence <[email protected]> wrote: > I agree totally.
