I can certainly agree with this. I tend to Master one 24-hr no-press game at
a time and in all bar one case (I think) they've filled within 24 hours -
well within - and without any kind of publicity. Read into that what you
will, but I take it as meaning that people like the idea of getting into
another game without spending 6 months of their lives stabbing people who
live halfway around the world. :P

I'm tempted to agree with the idea that people are hungry to play a game of
any description - and, moreover, *will* play a game of any description.
When I was new to the USDP, the first game I joined was an Empire game (the
10-power North American one). Why? Because it was pretty much the only game
on offer at the time. It really is a classic case of "if you build it, they
will come". Of course, the flipside to that is that people sign on for games
which they might not fully understand - especially in the cases of Xtalball
and Payola.

Assuming we are still in desperate need of both lists, one theory would be
to send a reminder about the existence of dpj-games every month. I'm not
sure of the mechanics of so doing, but that would make sense, wouldn't it?
Alternatively, if there's some way of modifying the information which any
new joinee gets on joining the dpjudge group to say "Also, you might want to
join dpj-games", that might get people moving in the right directions.

Just my two cents.
