Yes, this is for next. I figured as much, but shouldn't the command line
equivalents work?

I'm looking for the current command lines for both livery change and to
turn off ATC, or whatever that "that annoying little voice" is, ha!

If I change the time, in sim, it loads the stack of ATC with massive
amounts of ATC calls and I get a constant drone of ATC out of Anchorage
that floods the screen with text and the ears with "that annoying little
voice .

Should the command line switches still work in next? If not, does anyone
know why they don't?

--disable-fgcom, I don't think this is for ATC, what is?
--livery="livery-name" this doesn't seem to work?

I tried changing defaults.xml
<atc>
       <enabled type="bool">false</enabled>
       ~~~
</atc>
That didn't even shut it down.
Yeah, I'm really impressed by what we are able to get out of genVPB.py
now. It's really looking good when you put everything together. Add in
some regional texturing or what ever other tricks we might end up with
and our scenery is really "capable".
One thing I haven't heard anything about, that I hope still works, or at
least, isn't regressing, is a robust "ground type" system we can
leverage for bush craft use and for weather related tarmac conditions. I
haven't dug into any of that for ws3.0 yet, if there are still
properties exposed for the ground types? My goal would be to port the
work I did in aircraft space xml to a fully implemented C++ version. So
if you run a heavy off the end of the runway, you get stuck if its onto
mud or soft ground. Or you slide on ice or get bogged down if in deep
snow. All of this possible to script in ws2.0. I really don't want to
lose those capabilities. I'm hoping to extend them into the core of the
sim itself.
I don't know how many developer or users noticed how the c172p and the
j3cub both performed on the different ground types and conditions. Those
under carriage change outs were not just for show, they actually were
dynamic. It is really cool with the ws2.0 scenery and weather conditions
I was able mimic ice, snow, mud, soft and hard ground conditions and
select the appropriate under carriage for such conditions.
